There is other software out there, but here I cover xLights.
	The Controllers tab lets you to configure your controllers, and visualize your LED strings.
	The Layout tab lets you layout your props in a 3D view or 2D view.
	The Sequences tab lets you sequence a song. xLights has many effects and many options in each effect. There is a learning curve on sequencing and it will take time.
A good layout will help with sequencing. But sequencing is going to take a lot of time, so spend as much time in xLights as possible in the off season.
